Let Them [Say What They Want]

How to Handle Skepticism When You’re Trying to Heal Naturally

If you’ve ever tried to talk to your doctor about healing through nutrition, nervous system health, or stress reduction—and got met with an eye-roll—you’re not alone.

Many of the people we work with have heard things like:

  • “There’s no science behind that.”
  • “You just need to take the medication.”
  • “Chiropractic? Acupuncture? That stuff doesn’t work.”

It can be discouraging. And isolating. Especially when all you want is to feel better, and you’re finally beginning to follow your gut.

So what do you do when people around you—doctors, friends, or even family—don’t support your decision to explore a more holistic path?

Let them. Let them say what they’re going to say. Let them believe what they believe. Let them trust only what they were taught in school or saw in a textbook.

And then…

Let yourself do what feels right in your bones. Let yourself trust your body’s signals—even if others don’t understand. Let yourself walk the path that actually helps you feel better—not just the one that looks “approved” on paper.

Because if the conventional path had worked, you wouldn’t still be searching.

And if you are still searching, you deserve to follow what feels like truth to you—even if it doesn’t line up with someone else’s opinion.

You don’t need permission. But if it helps?

Here it is.

Let them doubt. Let them scoff. Let them not get it.

And let you heal anyway.

At The Specific Chiropractic Center – Chico, we support people who are tired of temporary fixes and ready to explore lasting healing. If you’ve faced skepticism for wanting something different, we’re here to listen and help. Whether it’s chiropractic care, nervous system support, or just having someone in your corner—we’re ready when you are.
