As I think about the patients I’ve had over the last twelve years here in Chico, there’s a few that stick out in my mind when it comes to getting better sleep.
One of them was a gentleman who for as long as he can remember, most of his adult life, wasn’t getting more than two to maybe four hours of sleep, not even consistent.
It was all broken up, and he had some other health issues going on that was affecting his sleep.
He had tried different things: special pillows, small ones, big ones, contoured ones, weighted blankets, sound machines, special curtains, I mean, the whole ball of wax.
I don’t think he’s alone….
I think there’s so many people out there that have poor sleep because of other factors in their life.
Most health issues affect somebody’s quality of sleep.
The Catch-22 is that if you’re not getting good sleep, well, then it makes it harder to have enough energy, and stamina, and motivation to go out there and actually fix the health issues.
It can be tricky business.
One of the things that we pride ourselves on here in our office is helping people get better sleep by addressing the real underlying issue and not just trying to slap together some symptom management strategy but actually fixing the issue.
That’s what we were able to do for that gentleman I was mentioning.
After we worked with him, he was able to get close to six hours of sleep and almost all the way through, which is like double, maybe even triple some of the sleep time he was getting before.
One of the focuses we have with our patients is helping them get better sleep.
It’s not what we treat, we don’t treat sleep conditions, if you will, but what we do helps people get better sleep.
That’s a game-changer for so many aspects of somebody’s life, the quality of their life.
Somebody reading this has trouble getting quality sleep, they have maybe other health issues that they’re just managing your symptoms, and maybe those health issues are now impacting the quality of their sleep, that’s not okay.
That’s a slippery slope there, and it only gets worse.
If you have something like that going on or know someone that does, we encourage you just to get in touch with us, message us on Facebook or social media, maybe email us, and we’ll do our very best to give you some sound advice based on real patient experience to get you that better sleep that you need.
